Inception Meeting for the Kwara State Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership Project Holds in Kwara State
On 14th May, 2026, Olive Community Development Initiative convened the inaugural meeting for the Kwara State Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership Project, bringing together key stakeholders from government and non-government sectors to strengthen collaboration on advancing women’s rights, empowerment, and inclusive community development in Kwara State.

Capacity Building for Young Market Women in Partnership with Tech4Market Women
On September 11, 2025, Olive Community Development Initiative (OCDI), in partnership with Tech4Market Women, organized a capacity building session for young market women to strengthen their business and financial management skills and support sustainable livelihoods.

Focused Group Discussion on Insecurity and Its Impact on Women in Kwara State
On August 25, 2025, Olive Community Development Initiative (OCDI) facilitated a Focused Group Discussion with women from selected Local Government Areas in Kwara State to document the impact of insecurity on women, families, and livelihoods and to amplify women’s voices in peace and recovery efforts.

16 Days of Activism
As a member of the National Coalition of Civil Society to End Child Marriage, OCDI, in partnership with the Ministry of Women Affairs, visited Warrah Oja Secondary School to commemorate the 16 Days of Activism. The engagement brought together students, teachers, and the school counselor to discuss ending violence against women and girls. Key insights emphasized the importance of respecting boundaries, promoting mutual respect among adolescents, and strengthening collaboration between teachers and counselors to prevent and address violence both in school and at home.

Report, Track and End Abuse
OCDI is proud to partner with NACTAL and NAPTIP to deploy the innovative Talkam case management app, powered by Devatop Center for Africa Development. This cutting-edge platform enables users to report abuse free of charge while supporting partners in efficiently tracking and managing cases. Together, this initiative strengthens the fight against trafficking and abuse—encouraging everyone to take action and speak up through TALKAM.

Psychosocial Support
The Women Voice and Leadership project, supported by ActionAid and funded by Global Affairs Canada, has served as a beacon of hope for survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Through this initiative, safe spaces have been created for survivors to share their voices, seek justice, and rebuild their lives with dignity and support.

Monitoring and Evaluation
Over five years, OCDI, through the Women Voice and Leadership project, has made significant strides in advancing women’s rights and empowerment—directly engaging 4,049 individuals, indirectly reaching 1,185,896 people, and connecting with 5,078 individuals through online platforms.

WVL PROJECT EVALUATION AND SUCCESS STORY MEETING
OCDI hosted a WVL project evaluation and success story meeting, bringing together key stakeholders to reflect on impact and document stories of change across Kwara State.

OCDI MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF OBAS, CHIEFS, WOMEN LEADERS, SECURITY GROUPS AND RFELIGIOUS LEADERS
Olive Community Development Initiatives had a town hall meeting at Iludun in Oro, Kwara State on Friday, 20th January 2023. The representatives of Obas, Chiefs,Religious leaders, Women leaders, vigilante groups and youth leaders were present at the meeting. The aim of the meeting was to give women the opportunity to talk about security issues in their community and also let them know their role in terms of peace keeping, conflict resolution and challenges women face during conflict.
