With support from the Global Fund, FHI 360 is implementing the National Aligned HIV & AIDS Initiative (NAHI) Grant, a comprehensive program focused on HIV prevention, treatment, and care for general and key populations across 17 states in Nigeria, including Kwara State. The intervention is being delivered through the Society for Family Health (SFH). A key component of this initiative is the One-Stop-Shop (OSS) model, designed to provide an integrated, community-based HIV service package. This includes prevention, care and support, referrals, and strong linkages to treatment services for key populations such as Female Sex Workers (FSWs), Men who have Sex with Men (MSM), People Who Inject Drugs (PWID), Transgender persons (TG), Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW), and Priority Populations (PP). The program prioritizes expanding access to HIV testing services within communities and ensuring that all individuals who test positive are promptly linked to treatment and care through OSS facilities or community-based Community ART (CART) teams. As a Community-Based Organization (CBO) in Kwara State, Olive Community Development Initiative (OCDI) plays a vital role in the implementation of this intervention. OCDI conducts HIV testing services for Female Sex Workers using a peer-to-peer approach across multiple Local Government Areas. Individuals who test positive, as well as those in need of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) or treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), are linked to appropriate services at the OSS facility operated by SFH. As part of ongoing monitoring and quality assurance efforts, representatives from FHI 360 visited Eyenkorin community in Asa Local Government Area on Friday, 19th May 2022. The visit aimed to observe and support the activities of community facilitators engaged in counseling and testing of Female Sex Workers—an effort coordinated by OCDI to ensure effective service delivery at the grassroots level.
