Strengthening Community Engagement for HIV Prevention: Our Participation in the LEN PrEP Workshop
Our Program Officer on the N-THRIP (Nigeria Tuberculosis and HIV Reach Integration Project) was among the participants at a 3-day workshop organized by the National AIDS, Viral Hepatitis and STIs Control Programme (NASCP), in collaboration with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI). The workshop focused on strengthening demand generation and community engagement strategies for LEN PrEP. The sessions spotlighted Lenacapavir, a newly introduced pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) option in Nigeria, while emphasizing the need for comprehensive, inclusive, and community-centered messaging. LEN was presented as an addition to existing HIV prevention options, including Oral PrEP and CAB-LA, ensuring that individuals and communities can make informed choices about the method that best suits their needs. Through active participation in engagements like this, we continue to strengthen our capacity to drive community awareness, support informed decision-making, and expand equitable access to effective HIV prevention services.
