Zero Tolerance Against Female Genital Mutilation.
On 7 February 2019, social work students on practicum at Olive Community Development Initiative (OCDI) carried out a sensitization programme at Owode Oja Community as part of their field requirements. The outreach, held in commemoration of the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation, focused on educating community members about the harmful effects of female genital mutilation (FGM) and the importance of personal and sexual hygiene. Through this engagement, the students contributed to ongoing efforts to protect the rights, health, and dignity of girls and women, while fostering informed conversations that challenge harmful cultural practices and promote safer, healthier communities.
