ADVOCACY
OCDI, with support from ActionAid Nigeria, hosted a quarterly SAP meeting on Women, Peace, and Security, engaging LGA representatives to strengthen data capturing and reporting across Kwara State.

Olive Community Development Initiative (OCDI), with support from ActionAid Nigeria under the Women’s Voice and Leadership Nigeria Project, organized a quarterly meeting for the State Action Plan (SAP) on Women, Peace, and Security (UNSCR 1325) at the Ministry of Women Affairs Conference Hall. Participants included representatives from all 16 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Kwara State.
Key attendees were the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs, SAP committee members, the Director of Child Development, the Director of Women, Gender Desk Officers from each LGA, and OCDI staff.
The meeting focused on identifying challenges faced by participants in data capturing and reporting within their respective LGAs and discussing measures to ensure smooth and accurate documentation.
OCDI distributed a data capturing tool to participants, which was reviewed collectively to incorporate feedback and comments relevant to each LGA. After thorough deliberation, participants agreed on adjustments to the template, including the addition of key indicators to make it more relevant and functional for effective monitoring and reporting across the state.
This initiative strengthens the capacity of LGAs to track progress on women, peace, and security interventions, ensuring evidence-based decision-making and effective implementation of UNSCR 1325 in Kwara State.
